Nitto Tires – Why They Are Special

November 30, 2008 by neil14ramon

There is no question that there have brilliant innovations brought forth from the automobile industry and in particular the tire and rubber industry whose nascent birth went hand in hand with that of the automobile itself.  We as drivers and rider owe much to the comfort and safety that we both rely on and also are able to not even consider to make way for those things in our lives with less stability.  Those in the auto and tire industries know this.  And without question, Nitto Tires understands this.  However, this is not the realm of concern for Nitto.

When safety counts after the speeds of comfort of ordinary drivers has long since been surpassed, well, this is the territory for Nitto Tires.  When its getting the laser quick punch off the line that will make all the difference, well, this is definitely the territory of Nitto.  You see, Nitto undoubtedly puts forth the same level of value in regards to research, development and innovation as any other leader in the tire industry, but there target concerns lie well off in a territory all their own.

For good reason, the average automobile driver and the manufacturer of all the parts that allow the auto to go need and do consider such things as, brakes, frame and motor engineering.  These are the base components of the car that anyone involved can realize are integral to its overall performance.  But, Nitto tires will in one motion concur with that perspective and simultaneously motion for a realization that these only take you so far and that the importance of the tire (in general, but with unflinching assurances in the high performance realm) has been greatly disregarded.  It is this stance that pushes Nitto Tires everyday to the limits of high performance tire quality.

Nudist Resorts Celebrate 31st Aniversary Of Nude Recreation Week July 10th – 16th

November 30, 2008 by neil14ramon

Nude sunbathing and swimming have a long history in America. Some of the more famous early nudists were Presidents George Washington and John Quincy Adams. Ben Franklin took daily “air baths” as he called them “au naturel.” Many more presidents such as FDR enjoyed skinny dipping. And Norman Rockwell’s painting titled No Swimming showing skinny dipping at the local water hole, graced the front cover of The Saturday Evening Post on June 4, 1921.

This July, celebrate the 31st anniversary of Nude Recreation Week from July 10th to 16th. The American Association for Nude Recreation is one of the major sponsors. The purpose of this week is to inform and educate people about all the fun they are missing out on by not taking nude vacations.

According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, nude recreation is one of the fastest growing segments of the travel industry. Nude vacationers now have choices such as cruises (on such lines as Holland America, Carnival, and Star Flyer sponsored by Bare Necessities), upscale resorts, and rural campgrounds and clubs. Guests feel very safe and comfortable at nudist resorts as inappropriate behavior is not allowed. One upscale resort owner was even President of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce.

As can be expected, the most popular clothing optional resorts are located in warm parts of the country. Most notably Palm Springs, CA and Florida.

Cypress Cove Nudist Resort located just outside of Orlando, FL in Kissimmee is Florida’s most famous nudist destination. It is very popular especially because it is close to all the attractions of Orlando like Disney World.

In Palm Springs, the popular place is The Terra Cotta Inn Clothing Optional Resort and Spa. Sunny Palm Springs is a very popular nudist destination as it has the best weather in America. Averaging less than 3 inches of rainfall a year. there is no warmer, sunnier city in the U.S. Another very important reason that nudist love Palm Springs is there are no mosquitoes because it is a desert city. So save the bug spray for your Florida vacations.

The Terra Cotta Inn’s popularity is also due to their catering to couples trying nude sunbathing for the first time. They don’t require memberships or mandatory immediate nudity like many nudist resorts. A first timer could initially wear a bathing suit or beach wrap if they so desired. Guests from around the world stay with them. Mary Clare, the owner says, “women are more intimidated by nude sunbathing at first, but ultimately they love it because they love the sense of freedom. You don’t have to worry how you will look in a bathing suit as you aren’t wearing one. Some women are nervous the first time they come here, and will go topless sunbathing at first. But usually, after maybe 30 minutes, they feel comfortable and will completely disrobe just like everyone else. Guests always ends up nude sunbathing here because of our safe environment. Woman really appreciate it that we think of their feelings and well being and allow them to go nude sunbathing when they are read! y.” This technique of allowing women to to feel comfortable is very successful. Terra Cotta has one of the highest repeat guest rates in the travel industry at just over 75%.

Nude recreation week is to remind people that you don’t have to settle for the same old boring chain hotel vacations this year. There really are fun places where you can relax and feel totally free. Isn’t it time for a new, fun vacation? Give a clothing optional resort a call. Celebrate Nude Recreation Week this year in your birthday suit. Pack light, this is the year all of your friends will want to hear about your vacation. You will be glad that you went.

North Face Tents

November 30, 2008 by neil14ramon

What is North Face?

The North Face is an outdoor product manufacturing company, specializing in products like jackets, tents, fleece wear, luggage, and shoes started by Douglas Tompkins in 1966. Their clothing and equipment lines are specifically aimed towards climbers, mountaineers, skiers, snowboarders, and hikers.

Mr. Tompkins sold the business in 1968, and The North Face is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the VF Corporation, one of the World’s largest apparel companies, owning leading brand names such as Wrangler, Lee Jeans, Riders, Rustler, Brittania etc.

North manufactures three main types of tents: Expedition, 3-season and Ultralight tents.

North Face Expedition Tents:

North Face Expedition Tents include the 2 Meter Dome, Himalayan 47, Expedition 36, VE 25 and Mountain 25. All these tents are constructed with Waterproof Flysheet technology – Polyurethane coating, hot-sealed seams with polyurethane tape, and welded Velcro strips on fly attached to poles for added stability. Except for the 2 Meter Dome, they also come with a polyurethane window, cold crack tested to 60°F. Price ranges from $400 to $5000.

The 2 Meter Dome tent offers maximum space and wind resistance, mainly intended for expedition activities. Features include dual doors, interior canopy loops, 420 denier nylon taffeta floor, and 210 denier nylon Oxford canopy. It is the most expensive North Face tent.

The Himalayan 47 is designed for resistance against weather conditions such as high winds or heavy snow. Features include dual doors with dual vestibules, compression stuffsack, internal pockets, internally adjustable zippered vents with mesh screens, reflective guyline loops, guylines and glow-in-the-dark zipper pulls, etc.

The Expedition 36, VE 25 and Mountain 25 are specifically designed for high wind resistance. Their features include most of the Himalayan 47 features such as dual doors with dual vestibules (for the Mountain 24, a front vestibule), internally adjustable zippered vents with mesh screens, reflective guyline loops, internal pockets, etc.

The Himalayan 47, Expedition 36 and Mountain 25 all come with 70 denier 210T nylon taffeta floors, and 40 denier 240 T nylon ripstop canopies.

North Face 3-Season Tents:

North Face 3-Season Tents include Trailhead 8/6/4, Merlin 33, Petrel 23, Roadrunner 22, Bug 23, Rock 22 and Talus 23, with price ranging from $180 to $400.

The Trailhead series come with 70 denier, 190T nylon taffeta canopy, 210 denier Oxford nylon floor, and include integrated roll down dividers for separated sleeping compartments. The series number indicates the number of people that can be accommodated.

The Petrel 23 is a freestanding, front-entry, two person tent – a backpacking staple for three-season use. The Roadrunner 22 is a two person tent with Waterproof Flysheet Construction. The Rock 22 is constructed with Continuous Pole Sleeve Technology which increases tent stability by maximizing contact between canopy and tent pole, and distributes pressure and weight from high winds and snow; and both the Bug 33 and Talus 23 with Fusion Pitch technology which combines continuous pole sleeves with clip construction for easy setup and improved ventilation.

North Face Ultralight Tents:

North Face Ultralight Tents include the Tadpole 23, Particle 13 and Vector 22, with price ranging from $200 to $230. All the three models are constructed with Waterproof Flysheet technology, with 40 denier 240T nylon ripstop canopy and 70 denier 210T nylon taffeta floor.

The Tadpole 23 is a two-person tent with Fusion Pitch, while the Particle is a lightweight one-person tent with a silicone flysheet for ease of packing and water repellency. The Vector 22 is a freestanding, two-person backpacking tent also with a silicone flysheet and dual doors.

Oakland A’s vs. Texas Rangers

November 30, 2008 by neil14ramon

Barry Zito from the A’s is looking now like in his best days back in 2002 when he won the Cy Young award. Zito allowed eight hits over seven scoreless innings and the A’s patiently battered Jamie Moyer in their third straight victory 7-2 over the Seattle Mariners last week.

“I just have a mentality where I’m going out there and not trying to be too fine, not thinking too much,” Zito said. “I’m just letting my stuff work for me. Just trust my stuff, trust myself.”

With five key players on the disabled list after a rash of injuries, the A’s are back above .500 at 20-19 and in a first-place tie with Texas in the AL West. Despite those injuries, they’re a team that has plenty of talent and will to get back to the winning side of the record. If they play good with all there key players injured imagine what they will play like once everybody is back and healthy.

Lineup

1. Mark Kotsay, CF. 2.Jason Kendall, C. 3.Eric Chavez, 3rd B. 4.Frank Thomas, DH. 5. Bobby Crosby, SS. 6.Nick Swisher, 1stB. 7. Jay Payton, LF. 8. Bobby Kielty, RF. 9.Marco Scutaro, 2nd B.

After an impressive game held on Tuesday against the Yankees in which the score was 14-13 in favor of the Yankees, the Rangers fell again on Tuesday 4-3. It wasn’t such an exciting game like the one on Tuesday but it still was good. It seems that the games between this two are becoming more and more interesting because both teams play really good against each other.

The Yankees were winning 4-1 in the in the seventh, but Gary Matthews Jr. hit a two-run homer in the eighth for Texas, cutting it to 4-3. Mariano Rivera worked a perfect ninth for his eighth save in nine chances.

“It’s tough to lose like that. I didn’t think they hit me very hard. They just found holes at opportune times,” Loe said. “I felt like I was making my pitches. I felt like I was in control. Maybe my pitch selection could have been better.”

In both games the Rangers were very close to get the victory but the powerful offense of the Yankees was better than theirs. Maybe they can change the story this week as they face the Oakland A’s, a team with a lot of injuries right now. That can give some advantage to the Rangers, so if you like sports betting this is a perfect opportunity to bet on a great game as I’m sure it will be between these two teams.

Lineup

1. Gary Matthews Jr., CF. 2.Michael Young, SS. 3.Mark Teixeira, 1st B. 4. Phil Nevin, DH. 5. Hank Blalock, 3rdB. 6. Kevin Mench, RF. 7.Brad Wilkerson, LF. 8. Mark DeRosa, 2nd B. 9. Gerald Laird, C.

Oh How I Love A Good Park

November 30, 2008 by neil14ramon

Where do you prefer to spend a lazy Saturday? Do you enjoy watching television, or perhaps shopping at the mall? When you have nothing on the agenda, where do you like to head first? For me, whenever I get the chance I’m always off to spend time at the local park.

There is something about spending an afternoon at the park that I just cannot get enough of. There are so many great things about the park to love.

A park is a great place because it is outside. It is healthy and refreshing to spend time out of doors and to breathe fresh air. When it is cool outside people can bundle up and be warm, and when it is warm out they can enjoy the sun and heat.

A park is the perfect place to spend family time. There are usually a lot of things to do together. Most parks have playgrounds for children and space to play basketball, baseball, or volleyball as a family. Visiting a park is also a great way for friends to enjoy a Saturday together.

At a park people can bring their dogs and other pets and let them play. There is nothing better than enjoying an afternoon with your family, friends, and your special pet. Most parks have a lot of space for pets to run, exercise and play. There are not too many ways to spend a lazy day that your dog can be involved.   Another thing that is great about a park is that it is a place that people gather for special celebrations. Summertime holidays like the Fourth of July and Memorial Day are spent in parks by many people each year. Birthday parties and even wedding celebrations often take place in a special park. The possibilities are endless when you have a great park close to home.

Everyone loves one of the greatest traditions that takes place at a park: barbequing. A great park always has grills that are open for use or fire pits that can be used to roast a hot dog or too. There is nothing better than to spend a day at a park and then barbeque your own dinner over the coals or a fire.

Spending time at a park allows people to get away from the busyness and rushed pace of day to day life. People can be as active or as restful as they want to be at a park. People enjoy days surrounded by the people they love and doing the activities they love to do. They play great games and eat great food. For me, nothing quite beats a day at the park.

Off Road Dirt Bikes

November 30, 2008 by neil14ramon

Dirt Bikes are designed and built to be ridden off public roads, on rough even mountainous terrain. These dirt bikes feature small engines having less power than larger bikes, long suspension travel as well as high ground clearance, simple construction and minimal body work, no street accessories (such as turn signals and horns), and large wheels with heavy-duty tires for traction, clamped by rim-locks.

The types of dirt bikes are in reference to their engines:

Single-Cylinder Two-Strokes
Single-Cylinder Four-Strokes

Common sizes for dirt bike engines are:

Young Riders: 50cc – 150cc
Older or Adult Riders: 250cc, 400cc, and 650cc

Having both air- and water-cooled motor systems, dirt bikes are designed for a variety of purposes, most especially competitive sports (Motorcross, Enduros), time or speed trials, rough terrain traversing, endurance, and fun and recreation.

Trial Bikes

Trial bikes are a particular variation of dirt bike. They are designed for motorcycle trial conditions, and are expected to be pushed to the limit, which is probably one reason they aren’t built heavy or sturdy. Typically, this kind of dirt bike is extremely small (up to 250cc engine size and power), and is built considerably light (no seat, and other non-essentials are taken off for light-weight movement).

Dual-Sport Bikes

Dual-sport bikes, or “on-off road bikes,” are dirt bikes that have legal access to public roads. These dirt bikes have greater suspension travel and include all necessary public-roadway accessories, such as blinkers, horns, state license plates, fenders, and other essentials. Similar to Enduro bikes, these dirt bikes are sometimes constructed for rough terrain and competitive sports.

Dirt bikes are known as the “wild ones” of the motorcycle-class of vehicles. These dirt bikes require riders who are in control and trained well in riding them in various environments. Young and inexperienced riders should be accompanied by an experienced rider when learning to ride a dirt bike. These monsters are fun and exhilarating, but they are just as dangerous!

OFFENSIVE BASKETBALL: HOW EACH PLAYER PLAYS

November 30, 2008 by neil14ramon

Basketball is a rough sport but people who regularly play the sport make it really fun to watch, not to mention very easy. If one looks a little bit closer, it has also technicalities and techniques. The object the game is to keep the ball in possession and score at the team’s basket. If the team has the basketball they should protect it from the opponent so that they won’t be able to steal it from them. This is called offense; the team who possesses the ball tries to keep the ball in their hands before they shoot and score.

Different players of the team have differences in the roles that they play during offense.

The Point Guard acts as the coach on the floor or court during the game. Extensive knowledge of the game and good ball handling skills are very important to be able to drive the ball to the basket with the help of the other members of the team. Good passing and dribbling skills together with great speed and fancy footwork is a technique that can be done by the point guard to keep the ball in possession and be successful in offensive play. Reading the defense of the opponent plus doing good defense can also be applied so the point guard can penetrate and dish off and drive the ball to the basket. Point Guards take little credit for the good offensive play however; they are valued by the other members of the team and the coach for they are the only ones who can understand the importance of the point guard.

The Off-Guard or the shooting guard acts as the best shooter among the guards of team. In addition to the qualities of the point guard, skills in moving without the ball and consistent hitting the 15 to 20 foot shot should be possessed. This player’s aim is to score and assists his teammates to score. This player should read the offense play the point guard has established because this player will replace the point guard if the point guard is overplayed or has to leave the game. This player then also acts as the understudy of offense.

The Center plays the mean tallest player on the floor or court and is as important as the point guard. This player should be quick and aggressive because this player rebounds to get the ball in the team’s possession and blocks the ball from shooting at the basket. Shooting skills required for this player are shooting at short and mid range, lay-ups, short hooks and jump shots and therefore strong hands, strong upper body and good jumping ability comes in handy. This player leads the team’s defense by reading the opponent’s defense and using it against the opponent. Upon taking the ball in the team’s possession, this player needs to look at the floor, see who is open and pass it so the ball can be taken to the team’s basket and score.

The Small Forward acts as the gifted player of the team. This player should know how to take hold of the ball and of the game. This player runs the length of the floor if needed especially during fast breaks so this player should be quick and fast. Rebounding skills is also necessary for him to take hold of the ball and in doing so, this player does defense anywhere on the floor. This player shoots at will and should be capable of shooting from anywhere on the court or floor.

The Power Forward does the dirty work but is like the point guard, small forward and the center. This player should also have the qualities of the center because this player controls the game in the key along with the center, doing offensive and defensive rebounding. This player may run the length of the floor if necessary especially during fast breaks so running skills is a plus factor. Adequate scoring and passing skills would be of great help to this player. This player does dribbling tactics and drives the ball to shoot in the basket. This player ensures that the team play is enforced properly.

The sixth man plays the all in one because this player replaces any member of the team on the court or floor if necessary. This player comes right out of the bench to ensure the right flow of the team play if the need comes to replace another player. This player observes the play and flow of the game so that this player can continue the game’s tempo and flow and deliver quality minutes to the team while he is on the court. This player may not be part of the starting five but this player keeps the team effective.

Offroad Tires – Getting Dirty With Style

November 30, 2008 by neil14ramon

What to do with the inherent urge you feel every time you quick spot an opening in the brush, in a trail that may or may not lead to an off road utopia?  What do you think you should do, you Nancy, slam the brakes, twist the wheel, apologize to whomever is sitting next to you for the fact that they will not be making it to their intended, particular destination at that moment and tear off road and into the liberation of street sign-free good times.

Well, wait, hold on for a moment.  While it’s true that I do think that, for the most part you should do that, there may be a thing or two slightly over-impulsive to that off roading call to arms.  First off, really you should drop your passenger off and let them walk to their destination (we are members of decent society after all).  But, more importantly, consider if you truck is ready for the offroad.
One of the biggest considerations here will be what your tires are looking like.  If you already have off road tires, then that’s great.  If not, consider for a moment that purchasing higher tires while offer you greater ground clearance, while the shorter offroad tire will give you more traction.  If your not already set up with an aggressively treaded tire (and at times even if you are), you may follow the time honored activity of offroaders everywhere and air down (or let air out of your tires).  Its fairly easily understandable how and why this is come to be common practice by those heading offroad.  By lowering the air in your tire and effectively lowering and widening the tire you can quickly and easily multiply the traction you are going to have.  The is quite helpful, but certainly try to not go overboard with the air down.  An obvious problem to this is that the sidewalls of your tires are going to really open themselves up to vulnerabilities and punctures.

There are certainly plenty of other options that one can make while setting up for heading offroad, so go check them out and figure which one is for you.  Some may fall under a category of pretty strictly offroad, while others will really offer some advantages to both bring onroad and off.

Offseason Discipline – NFL Players Diversifying Their Training

November 30, 2008 by neil14ramon

NFL players are individuals by nature, and each position and scheme demands different physical and mental capabilities in order to maximize success. As such, offseason training that used to be a matter of running a few miles per day to stay in shape has become its own cottage industry. We’ll take a look at some different things players do to stay in shape and to get bigger, faster and stronger during the offseason.

Cardiovascular Training

Perhaps the oldest form of training in the NFL, every player needs to be able to keep his wind if he’s to play football. In recent years, however, innovations within this discipline have grown increasingly popular. Some players just run for long distances. Others run wind sprints ad nauseum. Many combine the two, and other legendary cardio routines include Jerry Rice and Walter Payton, who famously ran up and down their chosen hills near their offseason homes religiously.

Weight Training

This is a staple of nearly every player, and like cardio training, weight training has grown much more specialized in recent years. Gone are the days when players would do a few sets of bench presses, squats and arm curls and call it a day. Every player and every position now has a particular routine designed to maximize muscle development, strength and explosion that fits the needs of the individual player and position. Strength coaches are paid very well to put together and manage these programs.  Without strength, balance and explosion, players will have no chance.

Martial Arts

Martial arts in and of themselves offer several choices in regards to particular routines. Regardless of the chosen discipline, many players train with martial arts masters to improve balance, quickness, mental focus and the ability to use their hands as weapons. Many linemen use this form of training to learn to defeat the player in front of him, and the player with these skills has a distinct advantage over those that don’t.

Boxing

During this offseason, Chargers LB Shawn Merriman is making a name for himself with his teammates by working with a boxing coach. He has replaced many pounds of fat with muscle, and everyone at the team facility noticed the difference immediately. Boxing works every muscle in the body, and the sport by design pushes its participants beyond the point of fatigue.

Yoga

With the rise in the popularity in weight training came the simultaneous collective loss of flexibility in players all over the NFL. Flexibility is a crucial element in avoiding injury, and core strength, many feel, is the fundamental basis of all conditioning. Yoga is also a mental form of preparation, and it grows in popularity every offseason.

Ballet

Although this form of training is generally not publicized by players, several prominent players have worked within this discipline to improve footwork. Former RB Herschel Walker famously touted his routine, and very few players in recent history could boast of better footwork than Walker. Quietly, ballet is part of many players’ routines.

Although there are many choices for players to train during the offseason, one common denominator is that all players need to do something, and do it diligently. Coaches and management teams expect every player to report for training camp bigger, stronger, faster and healthier every season, and many players’ contracts contain incentive clauses for staying in shape and meeting certain training requirements.

For the players, there is no more offseason in the NFL, and they all know this. That’s why you may see some familiar faces from time to time as you head to a yoga class or work out at the boxing gym.
